SMD Laboratory

Research activities at this Laboratory are focused towards the development of
new detectors and systems based on cadmium telluride (CdTe) compounds as well as metal halide perovskites
semiconductors for the nuclear radiation detection and imaging.

Innovative imaging detectors for medical applications are being developed based on
metalorganic vapor phase epitaxially (MOVPE) grown thick CdTe layers, as well as single crystal bulk halide perovskite crystals.
